Have you ever heard Saadi’s poem, “Human beings are members as a whole = بني آدم اعضاي يك پيكرند

It is said this poem is written above the UNO (united Nation Organization)’s door. Bur Dr. Javad Zarif, Our foreign minister, says it isn’t true. He tells another story :

“ I searched every coner of the building but couldn’t find it until I faced two Persian carpets there.

One of them had been presented by Dr. Mosaddeq, the other one presented by Mohammad Seirafian, one of the most famous carpet traders from Isfahan.”

Dr. Zarif added, “This carpet is 5 meters long and 5 meters wide. On this precious carpet, Saadi’s poem is woven by gold around the center. “

Dr. Zarif explained, “We tried hard to hang it up somewhere more viewers could enjoy. In addition, we had Saad’s poem translated beautifully into English and wrote it on a plate pinned next to yhe carpet so that viewers could both enjoy the beauty of Iranian arts and the humanitarian concept of Iranian culture.
